Co-Coordinator:
Professor Robert Rohling , P.Eng.
Dr. Rohling holds a joint position with Mechanical Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering. He teaches courses in instrumentation of mechanical systems, image processing and group projects. His research is in biomedical engineering with specific interests in ultrasound imaging, medical information systems and robotics. Dr. Rohling has established the Ultrasound Innovation Laboratory and works in collaboration with local hospitals and companies in medical imaging. |
|
Professor Elizabeth A. Croft , P.Eng.
Dr. Croft teaches courses in robotics and dynamics. Her research investigates how robotic systems can behave, and be perceived to behave, in a safe, predictable, and helpful manner. Applications of this work range from manufacturing assembly to healthcare and assistive technology. She is Associate Head (External Matters) of the department, and director of the Collaborative Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Systems Lab. Recent industrial research projects include the design of an automated trajectory planner for smooth and accurate robot motion, and the development of a multi-platform architecture for sensor and device integration in robotic workcells. Dr. Croft is the Associate Director of the Industrial Automation Laboratory at UBC. |
|
Professor Boris Stoeber , P.Eng.
Dr. Stoeber's interests lie in Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS), Microflow Phenomena, Sensor technology, and integrated microsystems for biomedical applications and for environmental control. He holds a joint appointment in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. |
